Auto Window Tinting Policies
  • Winners will accommodate you as much as reasonably possible, but under no circumstances will we issue any refunds to tint work performed.
  • Please remove items of value from car prior to work being performed. This includes the trunk area.
  • Due to insurance reasons, no customers are allowed in the bay unless accompanied by a shop employee.
  • Please keep your receipt for any warranty work. Warranty work is not performed on Saturdays.
  • Please be advised that while we do everything possible to make your Window Tint job and Clearshield Paint Protection job look great, there is no such thing as a perfect tint job. Below are the standards by which Winners abides.

Tint Rules

  • DO NOT roll your windows down or clean the inside of your windows for 3 full days.
  • For the next 3 days your tint will tend to look milky and streaky. This is normal and will evaporate with direct sunlight.
  • Please park your car in DIRECT sunlight to speed up the drying process. Overall surface drying time for tint will take 3 days in warm weather to 30 days in cold weather.
  • When it is safe to clean your windows, NEVER use any product that contains ammonia (like Windex). Doing so will fade the tint. Winners sells the appropriate window cleaner for $6.00.
  • NOT NORMAL would be large bubbles, peeling when rolling down windows, or anything that you feel is unsightly beyond the Visual Quality Standards for Applied Window Film.* Simply call the shop to come in for warranty work.
  • When tint is applied to glass, any imperfections in the glass, such as scratches, will seem magnified and more noticeable.
  • Some vehicles have “dot matrix” (little black dots at the top of the rear and side windows). The tint does not stick evenly on these dots and leaves a white haze around the windows. Winners does not warranty those dots. Customer has the choice of cutting them short or covering them with vinyl for an additional $20. BMW owners, this particularly applies to you!

Clearshield Paint Protection Rules and Policies

  • Please park car directly in sunlight to speed up the drying process, drying time will take 30 days or more for film to cure.
  • DO NOT wash/wax your car for the first 3 days.
  • Your car may already have small imperfections in the hood and bumper from road debris. The film may magnify these imperfections.
  • During drying time, Clearshield film will look wet, hazy, milky and with small water bubbles appearing. These are normal conditions and will disappear when film is fully dry.
  • Although Winners does everything possible to keep a clean and dust/dirt free tint environment, small dust and air borne particles may be seen in your tint.

Tint Removal Rules

  • While we do everything in our power to save your rear window defrost lines, Winners does not guarantee that they will work upon tint removal. Some films remove the metal on the defroster lines when the tint is removed. This film is generally—but not always—older film, inexpensive film or film coming from hot climates. Your choices to fix broken defroster lines are limited to purchasing an at-home repair kit from an auto parts store or purchasing a new rear windshield. You WILL, however, pass inspection once the film is removed even with broken defroster lines.
  • While we do clean up after our tint removal efforts, you may find odors or small amounts of residual glue, tint, or water left behind in your car. We ask that you forgive our oversight knowing that we do try to clean up after ourselves and present you with a neat and clean car.

* Visual Quality Standards for Applied Window Film As adopted by the IWFA May 15, 1999

  1. Installed film on flat glass surfaces is not expected to have the same level of visual quality as clear glass.
  2. Installed film has a cure time where the water trapped behind the film during installation needs time to evaporate. Typical visual cure times may be extended or shortened according to climactic conditions.
  3. Inspection for optical quality can be made before full visual cure time is attained. It should be noted that effects during cure, such as water bubbles, water distortion and water haze are not to be regarded as defects.
  4. The glass with applied film shall be viewed at right angles to the glass from the room side and a distance of not less than 6 feet. Viewing shall be carried out in natural daylight, not in direct sunlight, and shall assess the normal vision area with the exception of a 2 inch wide band around the perimeter of the unit.
  5. The installation shall be deemed acceptable if all of the following are unobtrusive: Dirt Particles, Hair and Fibers, Adhesive Gels, Fingerprints, Air Bubbles, Water Haze, Scores and Scratches, Film Distortion, Crease, Edge Lift, Nicks and Tears.
  6. The 2 inch wide band around the perimeter shall be assessed by a similar procedure to that in 3 and 4, but a small number of particles is considered acceptable where poor frame conditions mitigates against the high quality standards normally achieved. (Example: Felt borders, deteriorating gaskets, previous tint and glue residue, age of vehicle).
  7. Edge gaps will normally be 1/16 to 1/8” gaps from the top. This allows for the water used in the installation to be squeegeed out. This ensures that film edges are not raised up by contact with the frame margin. Contact with the frame margin would lead to peeling of the film.
